Project details

The KR Market Redesign Project aims to transform the Kaleswara Rao Market (KR Market) in Vijayawada into a more organized, functional, and culturally resonant marketplace while preserving its heritage and traditional Indian bazaar character. As one of the largest and most significant commercial hubs in the city, KR Market serves as a wholesale and retail center, offering a diverse range of goods, including fresh produce, flowers, spices, textiles, and household items. The redesign seeks to address key challenges such as traffic congestion, inadequate infrastructure, sanitation issues, and the need for modernization without compromising its historic charm and community-oriented nature.
